Environment

We regard ourselves at J. Allcock & Sons Ltd and Wellington Rubber Co. Ltd as an environmentally conscious company. Reducing rubber waste and scrap, is one of our key business areas.

For over 40 years we have supplied recycled rubber back into the industry. With our own crumb and granulation facility we offer a full recycling service. We are able to collect cured scrap rubber, grind it to whatever size is wanted, and supply it back in whatever packaging is required.

Time and again we prove that we can, not only reduce the amount of cured rubber waste going into landfill, but can also show that there are large economic and technical benefits to be gained.

J. Allcock & Sons are an active member of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Environmental Committee ensuring we are up to date with current issues.

We can advise our customers of the problems the will face now, and in the future, and how we are able to help.

The problem we face is that for many years the recycling of rubber has been seen as a back street operation run with a back street mentality. We aim to show that we are a quality company who offers quality products as well as a quality service.

In 1997 we achieved BS EN ISO 9002 registration. In 1998 we were awarded two of the Manchester Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Business Awards, for Services to the Environment and for Manufacturing Innovation. We have achieved accreditation for Investors in People which is our next step in being regarded as world class.

In 2004 we achieved ISO9001:2008. We believe we are the only rubber recycling company in the U.K. to achieve this standard.

We are very proud of what we have achieved so far. We know we still have a long way to go. We offer an open invitation to any company who feels that what we have to offer could benefit them.
