Pine Tars

Pine Tar is a viscous, blackish-brown liquid, derived from / produced in the forests of Scandinavia. As it comes from the distillation of small branches, twigs, stumps, trimmings, etc, i.e. all the tree parts that are not used for lumber, it is very environmentally friendly, using only the "useless" bits. Another source is from the condensation of the gases produced when the pine trees are used to make charcoal - something that in the past would have just been wasted.
